The above list derives from a number of sources and should be considered a 'work in progress' bearing in mind that not all records are in agreement. Initial data was sourced from compilations produced by Colonel Charles Newman and Major Bill Copland while POWs, and by Commander Ryder upon his return to the UK. I must also acknowledge a comprehensive list of casualties made available to me by Mark Horan, of Windsor Locks, Connecticut. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission's 'search' facility is another excellent source of material particularly relating to service numbers and grave/memorial sites: there is no specific 'CHARIOT' listing, however individuals' details can be traced by name, service and date. I will be continuing to check/update the list, so corrections are welcome.

This list totals 168, as opposed to the official total of 169 fatalities which includes Able Seaman A Milner, of ML298, who in fact survived the raid.
